- Record keeping may be difficult and time consuming for the athletic trainer but it is an area that cannot be neglected
- Includes medical histories preparticipation examinations, injury reports, treatement records, and rehabilitation programs
Ordering Equipment and Supplies
- The more tools available for use, the more affective the practitioner can be
- An athletic trainer can operate with very little equipment but should include a taping and treatment table, an ice machine, and a few free weights
- Depending on the level and institution, decisions regarding how available money may best be spent are alwyas critical
Supervising Personnel
- The person who supervises the assistants has a responsibility to design a reasonable work schedual that is consistant
- The head athletic trainer must provide an environment in which assistance and students can learn perfessionaly
- Supervision of athletic training students need constant visual and authority
Establishing Policies for Operation of an Athletic Training Program
- Athletic trainer must be able to easily adjust to a situation
- A plan should be established for emergency management of injury
- Policies and Procedures must be established to prevent further injuries
